DeJuan Ransom from Wilcox Tech became the 24th player in CIAC history – and second within the last few weeks – to surpass 2,000 career points, doing so on Saturday afternoon.
Ransom scored a game-high 30 points to lead Wilcox Tech over East Hampton 78-52 on the road. He needed just 11 points going into the game and now has 2,019.
On Jan. 31, Dev Ostrowski of East Lyme also surpassed 2,000 points.
Ransom became the all-time leading scorer in Meriden on Thursday against O’Brien Tech, surpassing former Wilcox Tech star Roosevelt Shider.
Congratulations to DJ Ransom on becoming the 24th player in Connecticut Boys Basketball history to reach 2,000 points in his career. DJ is the first player from a Connecticut Technical High School to accomplish this feat. pic.twitter.com/QZiOfKX0vf
