Emyiah Gillard had four aces and two kills and Desiray Sanders added six digs for the Inventors in their their Class S second round loss. Innovation won 25-16, 25-5, 25-20. Shannon Boles had seven assists and five digs and Jennifer Figueroa added six assists and four digs for the Inventors (15-8).

The No. 1 seeded St. Joseph girls volleyball team advanced to the Class M quarterfinals Wednesday by sweeping No. 17 seed Tolland, 25-16, 25-16, 25-13 at home.
The win means St. Joseph will host No. 9 seed Lewis Mills in Friday’s Class M quarterfinals.

No. 2 HOPKINS 3, CONVENT OF THE SACRED HEART 2
Ella Fujimori scored the game-winning goal in the 78th minute to lead the Hilltoppers to their FAA semifinal win in New Haven. Fernanda Serna scored in the 38th minute to give Convent of the Sacred Heart a 2-1 lead. Lilly Fagan tied the game at 2 for the Hilltoppers in the 73rd minute, setting up the game-winning opportunity for Fujimori. Hopkins (11-6-2) will face host No. 1 seed Greenwich Academy on Friday in the final. Greenwich Academy defeated St. Luke’s 2-1 in the other semifinal.
