Juan Avila and Matt Koziy both scored in the second half for the fourth-seeded Morgan boys soccer team, which upset top seed and previously undefeated Old Saybrook 2-0 Wednesday in the Shoreline Conference tournament semifinals at Old Saybrook.
Calvin Jackson and James Saturno assisted on the goals for the Huskies, who advance to their third straight tournament final. Morgan will face the winner of No. 3 Valley Regional and No. 2 Haddam-Killingworth Saturday at 1 p.m. at Portland.
Old Saybrook, the defending champion, drops to 17-1.
North Branford 4, Morgan 1: Ana Pavic scored twice in the second half for No. 2 seed North Branford in the Shoreline Conference tournament semifinal at home.
Lexie Rosado and Mackenzie MacGowan also scored for the Thunderbirds, who will face Old Lyme in the final, a rematch of last year’s game, on Saturday at 3 p.m. Courtney Viglione scored for the third-seeded Huskies.
Platt Tech 2, Norwich Tech/Holy Family 0: Kaitlin Jorge had a goal and an assist for top seed Platt Tech in the Connecticut Technical Conference tournament semifinal at Milford.
Johanna Campoverde also scored for the Panthers (14-0-3), who advance to play Windham Tech in the final Saturday at Cheney Tech in Manchester. Norwich Tech/Holy Family drops to 9-5-3.
