Torrington boys swimming took down Kennedy on the road 96-81. Torrington’s Matthew Traub set a 100 backstroke pool record with a time of 53.25. Jake Wassik cruised to victory in the 200 freestyle, taking the top spot with a time of 1:53.90. The Red Raiders’ Michael Hodge placed second with a time of 2:25.88. Wassik had another big victory in the 500 freestyle, finishing with a time of 5:04.62. Nick Camino placed second with a time of 5:52.83.

Shepaug 32, Litchfield 31 >> Shepaug edged Litchfield thanks to a couple late freethrows to give the Spartans the lead. Caroline Kelly sunk the late field goals and finished the game with 21 points. Kelsey Johnson added six points in the win. Litchfield’s Elena Kennedy led the Cowgirls with 14 points. Shelby Elwell recorded six points in the loss. Shepaug is 1-2, Litchfield is 0-3.
Northwestern 39, Terryville 32 >> The Highlanders edged Terryville, helped by a big game from Emma Beltrandi. Beltrandi led all scorers with 20 points and recorded 13 rebounds. The game remained close for two quarters but the Highlanders went on a run in the third, outscoring the Kangaroos 16-7. The Highlanders’ Liz Newkirk was tough under the boards, coming down with seven rebounds. Terryville’s Olivia Pilarksy led the Kangaroos with 15 points. Bailey Doran recorded eight points. Northwestern is 3-0, Terryville is 0-3.
Wamogo 47, Gilbert 39 >> Wamogo remained undefeated for the season after edging Gilbert. The Warriors’ Brooke Neller led Wamogo with 11 points. Kristen Kandefer recorded eight points in the victory. Gilbert’s Ali Brochi led all scorers with 16 points. Aleigh Valickis recorded nine points in the loss. Wamogo is 2-0, Gilbert is 0-3.
