We’re equal opportunity hucksters here at GameTimeCT. So if we’re prepared to show lighthearted videos like, say, a ref taking an inadvertent Capital Prep player’s knee to the groin or Xavier coach Sean Marinan getting hit by a football, we’d better be prepared to show it happening to one of our own.
During a key moment in St. Joseph’s 17-6 victory over Notre Dame-West Haven, St. Joseph special-teams terror Marc Mrozek blocked a punt that set up Mufasha Abdul-Basir’s clinching touchdown run. The ball fluttered toward the sideline and toward GameTimeCT.com editor, Sean Patrick Bowley, filming on the sidelines.
If you ever wanted to see Bowley get hit by a football, your wish has been granted.
So we present to you two angles: The actual game footage SPB shot and the footage caught on camera by WTNH-8 / Sportzedge reporter Erik Dobratz.
We’re happy to report SPB and his three marbles are recovering nicely. He’ll play tonight.
Everybody point and laugh at Sean.
And here’s what it looked like from Sean’s end (that voice you hear in the background, apologizing for being a good samaritan, is New Haven Register High School Sports Editor Joe Morelli. Former SCC Commissioner and photographer Bill O’Brien is the voice saying, “Let’s see it!”
Finally, here’s the WTNH full highlight reel of the game:
