East Lyme lost to New London 50-40 on Saturday, but could have lost more than a game. Leading scorer Dev Ostrowski went down with a right foot injury a couple of minutes into the game and didn’t return.
East Lyme coach Jeff Bernardi said an X-ray will be taken on Monday. The Vikings don’t play again until Saturday against Weaver. Ostrowski, a senior, just became the 23rd CIAC player to reach 2,000 career points against Stonington Thursday.
Hamden senior guard Victor Rosario has missed the last four games with an apparent suspension, his second of the season. He was at Friday’s win over Career, but in street clothes.
Hamden athletic director Tom Dyer had no comment when asked if Rosario’s status has been resolved. The Green Dragons play at Hand on Tuesday.
Sacred Heart guard Nate Tabor has missed the past three games, all wins for the Hearts. The first game was because of a school suspension.
Then a decision to keep Tabor, a junior who verbally committed to St. John’s last month, out this past week “came from home, supported by the school administration and the basketball staff,” according to Sacred Heart coach Jon Carroll, who also noted Tabor would return Tuesday against Kennedy.
