Welcome to another season of #TweetYourBuzzerBeaters, where fans in the stands get to showcase their team’s heroic buckets at the buzzer.
Fresh off his All-State Football playoff season for Platt, Tylon Papallo didn’t waste much time bringing his athletic heroics to the hardwood.
Papallo and Platt traveled to Cheshire for what became a nip-and-tuck game. Cheshire trailed for a majority of the game, its first of the season. But the Rams rallied in the fourth quarter and took a brief 51-50 lead with under a minute to go.
After Platt’s Bryant Washington gave his team the lead back at 52-51 on a pair of foul shots, Cheshire’s Drew Hart hit one of two foul shots to tie it with 5.1 seconds remaining.
That set Platt up with for one last possession before overtime.
It was plenty of time for Papallo to get the ball over midcourt, maneuver around a high defender, get to the 3-point line and jack up his winner for the 55-52 victory.

Platt improved to 1-1. Cheshire fell to 0-1.
(By the way, these things looks sooooooo much better when you hold your phones sideways. Seriously, you guys. This is a recording.)
UPDATE: Yes, Snapchat is why nobody ever does.
ANOTHER UPDATE: I also intensely dislike Snapchat for this reason. This is also a recording.
A THIRD UPDATE: Tylon Tweeted out a courtside (but still portrait) version of the shot. Nice look. We added it to the top.
