Before the next batch of high school basketball games goes off tonight, here’s another episode of #TweetYourBuzzerBeaters from last Friday.
This footage comes from Plainfield’s Dylan Horn, who alerted us on Saturday of a sweet halfcourt bank by his teammate Liam Jacobs to end the first quarter of an eventual 77-64 victory over rival Griswold.
While that shot was tremendous, it was a 19-0 third-quarter run which ultimately decided this one. Jacobs, a senior 6-foot-5 forward, led the way with 21 points, 12 rebounds and six assists. He also had a block. Horn added 10 points. Brandon Yeaton scored 22 for Griswold.
Plainfield is now 7-2 with a follow-up 81-41 victory over Wheeler on Monday night.
Oh, lest we forget, Jacobs happens to be the son of longtime Hartford Courant columnist Jeff Jacobs. We (backhandedly, of course) reached out to the scribe for comment on his progeny’s feat:
@SPBowley @DylanHorn23 @liamkjacobs @GameTimeCT I would've broken the backboard from there. #NoTouch
