#Tweet-Your-Buzzer-Beaters: Granby’s Shelansky makes Ellington pay with winning bank shot at the horn

Up 59-57 with six seconds remaining, Ellington needed just two foul shots to seal a clutch victory over Granby and and end its own three-game losing streak.

The Knights missed both and Granby’s James Shelansky made them pay.

Dearly.

Given a chance to win this game outright, Shelansky grabbed a pass off the rebounded miss, streaked up court and, with defender in his face, banked in the winning 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift the Bears to a thrilling 60-59 victory at home Friday night.

Instead of Ellington ending a three-game losing streak, Granby extended its win streak to five games. Since a 66-41 loss to Simsbury on Dec. 30, the Bears haven’t lost in 2018. They improved to 5-2. Ellington fell to 2-6.
