Wins have been hard to come by for Bethel this season. That is, until recently.
The Wildcats started their season with five-consecutive losses and seven out of their first eight games. But things have begun to turn around. They headed to New Milford on a three-game win streak.
Make it four-straight victories.
And they don’t get much sweeter than this.
Bethel overcame a 10-point, fourth-quarter deficit and beat SWC rival New Milford on frosh Chris Towey’s running 3-pointer at the buzzer for a 46-42 road victory.
Towey got the ball in front of his bench and, with New Milford sophomore guard Christopher Gesauldi right in his face, dribbled past and flung the ball up beyond Gesualdi’s outstretched arms.
Right in front of the stunned New Milford student section.
What a shot.
Bethel, which was once 1-7, improved to 5-7 as it heads to Weston on Tuesday for the second of five-straight road games. The Wildcats were led by 13 points apiece from Will Daniels and Michael Hogan.
Cam Cunningham had 14 for New Milford, which fell to 3-9.
H/T to Bethel basketball for the footage.
