This is a first here at #TweetYourBuzzerBeaters
In a thriller, Norwalk beat two-time defending FCIAC champion Westhill, 56-55 in overtime Tuesday night.
The Bears didn’t win this with one buzzer-beater. They did it with two. (Well, just about…)
And to top it off, both clutch shots came from the same player: Senior guard Armani Sawyer.
First, Sawyer hit a sick 3-pointer from the left wing as the buzzer sounded to force overtime at 48-48.
Then, with Norwalk down a point and time running down in overtime, Sawyer took a feed from point guard Kerry Alcena, drove the lane and put up his second clutch shot with about 2 seconds left to deliver the Bears again.
The first dagger from Sawyer was a legit buzzer-beater.
It was a so good it fooled Norwalk’s fans into a frenzy and a few stormed the court, thinking it had won the game.
School officials and police had to quickly restore order before overtime could commence.

The second, while not a true buzzer-beater, came with 2 seconds left.
The Norwalk fans almost didn’t wait before Westhill’s full-court desperation shot officially fell short before they stormed the court again, officially this time.

Sawyer finished with 10 points as Norwalk snapped a three-game losing streak and improved to 4-4 (1-4 FCIAC). Westhill fell to 3-3 (1-3 FCIAC).
