Hale Ray 61, Hyde 41 >> Senior guard Jason Traceski poured in a game-high 20 points and also grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Noises Monday at New Haven. Craig Botteon added 16 points, while Jimmy Lucido posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds for Hale-Ray (2-8). Eric Teixera had 14 points and Ricardo Steele had 10 points for Hyde (5-5).
East Hampton 51, Old Saybrook 50 >> Matt Vasquenza paced a balanced scoring attack with 14 points as the Bellringers rallied past the Rams Monday at Old Saybrook. Matt Booth had 11 points, and Marvin Gorgas and Colin Parks each had 10 points for East Hampton (8-2), which outscored the Rams 19-12 in the fourth quarter. Danny Murphy had a game-high 20 points and Sam Henry added 18 points for Old Saybrook (5-3).
Hyde 46, Hale-Ray 43 >> At New Haven, the Noises had a chance to tie the game in the final seconds after gaining possession off a missed free throw but a skip pass to Emily Traceski for a potential game-tying 3-pointer was tipped and Traceski’s catch and quick shot missed. Senior guard Trayneice Mims scored 25 points and dished out five assists, while Adasia Beard added eight points for Hyde (6-7). Traceski collected 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Jess Dombroski had a double-double with 12 points and 16 rebounds, and Jess Nickerson added seven points and nine rebounds for Hale-Ray (3-9).
Old Saybrook 43, East Hampton 29 >> Senior guard Mia Neas collected 23 points, eight steals and five rebounds to lead the host Rams on Monday. Mary Kate Morrison added six points for Old Saybrook (7-4). Megan Orbann had seven points, while Gyanna Russell and Renee Radavich had five points apiece for the Bellringers (8-4).
Morgan 51, Coginchaug 45 >> Sophomore forward Josie Sullivan had a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Huskies to their 10th straight win Monday at Clinton. The game was tied at 33 after three quarters. Jen Dawson had 14 points and Tori Hopkins had 11 points for Morgan (10-1). Kim Romanoff had a game-high 18 points and Audrey Arcari added 11 points for the Blue Devils (8-3).
Lyman Hall 96, Haddam-Killingworth 74 >> The Trojans topped the Cougars at the H-K Pool on Friday, Jan. 17. For H-K, junior Garrett Mazziotti placed first in the 200 IM (2:08.98) and the 100 Butterfly (57.19); senior Michael Szafran placed second in the 200 Freestyle (2:08.39) and 100 Freestyle (56.00); senior Gunnar Soneson placed second in the 200 IM (2:19.52) and 100 Backstroke (1:03.64); junior Conor Champagne placed second in the 50 Freestyle (24.77) and 100 Breaststroke (1:11.91); and freshman Rachael Coady placed second in the 500 Freestyle (5:59.48). The Cougars 200 Medley Relay team of Soneson, Champagne, Mazziotti and sophomore Connor McLaughlin finished first in 1:50.36. H-K hosts Holy Cross (Waterbury) on Jan. 24 at 4 p.m.
