Nonnewaug could not miss in their home opener against Wamogo, defeating the Warriors 8-0. Nonnewaug’s Hailey Wheeler scored a hat trick in the win. Taylor Peck scored a goal and had an assist. Litchfield 1, Northwestern 0 >> Litchfield and Northwestern remained scoreless for most of the game until Litchfield got on the board with a late goal. Cowgirls’ Tara Shakley scored the lone goal with 14:26 remaining in the game and was assisted by Elena Kennedy. Melissa MacDonald saved three shots to secure the shutout. Northwestern’s Kaelyn Hester saved five shots. Litchfield is 1-0, Northwestern is 0-1.
Lewis Mills 3, Shepaug 0 >> Lewis Mills got on the board quickly, scoring the first goal of the game just five minutes into the first half. The Spartans tacked on two more goals to defeat Shepaug. Ryan Finley, Jordan Sokol and Freddy Marinelli each scored a goal in the victory. Finley also added two assists in the win. Shepaug’s Will Harris saved saved six shots in the loss. Nonnewaug 3, Housatonic 0 >> Nonnewaug started their season with a victory on the road against Housatonic. Nonnewaug’s Jackie Borges scored two goals in the first half. Kassi LoPresti scored the third goal. Ana Schneider, Nikki Saks and Shannora Bauer each had an assist in the victory. Housatonic’s Megan Ackerman had 13 saves in the loss.

Thomaston 2, Lewis Mills 1 >> With 10 minutes into the second half, Thomaston took the lead and held on for the victory against Lewis Mills. Jill Donston scored the late goal and was assisted by Kaleigh Scarfo. Rhianon Mecca also scored a goal for Thomaston and was assisted by Morgan Sanson. Lewis Mills’ Ally Jackson scored the Spartans’ lone goal. Thomaston is 1-0; Lewis Mills is 0-1.
Wamogo 4, Litchfield 0 >> Behind solid defense and timely scoring, Wamogo defeated Litchfield. Wamogo’s Loghan Bennett and Alex Esandrio each scored two goals in the victory. Esandrio added two assists in the win. Regan Marti and Crissy Clayton each had an assist. Wamogo is 1-0; Litchfield 0-1.
Wolcott Tech 3, Cheney Tech 1 >> Wolcott Tech opened its season with a win against Cheney Tech. Wolcott Tech finished the four game match 25-20, 25-16, 23-25, 25-15.
