Shea Tracy scored a school-record 51 points including 13 3-pointers to lead the Terryville boys basketball team to an 86-52 win over Shepaug on Thursday.
Tracy, who entered the game with 987 career points, scored his 1,000th career point when he hit a long-range 3 from the top of the key with just over 3 minutes left in the first quarter. He finished the opening frame with 19 points.
Tracy finished with 30 in the first half including eight 3-pointers.
“Shea had one of those outstanding shooting nights and a huge part of that was his teammates were looking for him,” Terryville coach Mark Fowler said. “It was a great night for him to get his 1,000th point and he really put an exclamation point on the night and good win for us.”
Ryan Lamay led Shepaug (4-8) with 15 points and Robert McCarthy and Clayton Schneider added 12 each. Ian Schmidt scored 10 points for the Kangaroos, who improved to 9-4 overall and 9-2 in the Berkshire League.
