FINE PERFORMANCES

Alicia Whyte, Bloomfield: Recorded a hat trick in a 9-0 win over Hartford Public.

Malena VanBeveren, Innovation: Had a hat trick in a 4-3 win over Hale-Ray.

Sam Forrest, Glastonbury: Her three goals helped the Tomahawks top Avon 7-1.

GET OUT AND GO

Cheshire at Hand, Tuesday, 6 p.m.: Rematch of the 2016 SCC tournament final, won by Cheshire in penalty kicks.

Shelton at Law, Wednesday, 6 p.m.: Law, a SCC tournament finalist last year, won’t sneak up on anyone this year. Shelton might just have one of the state’s most underrated defenses, coming off a 2-0 shutout of Masuk.

Trumbull at Ridgefield, Thursday, 4 p.m.: FCIAC foes played to a scoreless tie at the beginning of the 2017 regular season.

Old Lyme at North Branford, Saturday, 10 a.m.: North Branford dethroned four-time Shoreline champion Old Lyme in last year’s final. Wildcats will be looking to re-establish themselves as the team to beat in the league.

OF NOTE

Old Lyme’s Mya Johnson, a member of GameTimeCT’s preseason top 25 players to watch, will play at Division III Conn College, according to a story in the New London Day.
