The Greenwich High School boys lacrosse team upped its record to 2-0 with a 17-3 triumph against host Westhill in an FCIAC game on Thursday.
Senior attack Jack Feda scored four goals, while senior Charlie Graves recorded a hat trick with two assists to lead Greenwich.
Matt Davey, a senior, added two goals and two assists and Owen Gwozdz contributed one goal and three assists in the winning effort. Peter Rivelli notched two goals and Lance Large had one goal and one assist in the win.
Will Montesi and Walter Stratton also had one goal and one assist for the victors. Nate Allen and Bryce Metalios had one goal apiece and Teddy Bacon made five saves to also ignite Greenwich.
GREENWICH HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS GOLF
Greenwich opened its season with a strong performance, defeating Wilton, 173-204, at Silvermine Golf Club on Thursday.
Sydney Nethercott earned medalist honors, shooting a 37 for the Cardinals (1-0). Grace Sunoo shot a 40, as did Greenwich teammate Sofia Ghorbel. Trinitee Mungai posted a 56 for the Cardinals.
Karli Williams paced Wilton (0-1) with a round of 46.
Lorenzo Gunningham’s victory at fifth singles gave the Bruins a hard-fought 4-3 win over Hotchkiss School in a NEPSAC match held on Wednesday at Brunswick’s Richman Courts.
Gunningham’s comeback 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 win brought Brunswick’s record to 2-0. Ryan Glanville gave the Bruins their first victory of the match, winning at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 5-0 (retired). Evan Lee (No. 3) was off the court next for Brunswick, after winning his match, 6-1, 6-1. At sixth singles, Edward Nagler of Brunswick was defeated, 6-2, 6-3. Aidan Reilly was a 6-4, 6-3 winner at No. 5.
At the top singles spot, Ben Powis was defeated by a 6-2, 6-4 score for Brunswick. In doubles play, Glanville and Reilly notched an 8-0 triumph. Powis and Lee teamed up for an 8-4 win.
