Coming in at No. 8 on the 2013 Litchfield County best fall team list is the Thomaston girls’ cross country team. The Golden Bears did what they have done each of the last seven seasons, win the Berkshire League title, their seniors were in the fifth grade.

The last time the Thomaston girls’ didn’t win the Berkshire League title, NASCAR racer, Jimmie Johnson had only one championship, he has six now.

Leading the way for the Golden Bears was Sabrina Olsen and Becky Perugini who were the two best runners in the Berkshire League all season. Olsen won the girls Berkshire League title, Perugini running with an injury came in third.

The Golden Bears capped off their season with a third place finish at the Class S meet, the fourth straight year Thomaston has finished in the top three at the Class S meet, not bad for a school that is a as small as Thomaston is.

According to the people the Thomaston girls’ cross country team was the eighth best team in the Litchfield County this fall.
