IT’S CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND, the 25th anniversary of CIAC boys lacrosse championships, and we’re back for the penultimate episode of the the Long-Stick Podcast to review the state semifinals and take a look at our three state championship games.
The big one, of course, is in Class L, where No. 1 ranked Darien will look to get its mojo back when it takes on high-flying Wilton in the state final. The Blue Wave, of course, lost to Wilton in the FCIAC semifinals, which kicked Wilton’s late-season resurgence into high gear.
“That’s good,” Wilton defenseman Ryan Schriber said. “I like that.”
So do we. The main event starts at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at McMahon.
We also take a look at the two undercards: Class M championship game involving heavily favored New Fairfield, which crushed Weston, its final opponent, twice during the season, and the Class S championship between another heavy favorite in St. Joseph vs. newcomer Bacon Academy.
