Stratford High recogntion / Athletic Hall of Fame dinner set for May 17

Staff Reports | April 22, 2019

The 13th annual Stratford High School Senior Recognition/Athletic Hall of Fame dinner will take place May 17 at 6:30 p.m. at Vazzano’s Four Seasons Catering and Banquet in Stratford.

All senior athletes who earned a varsity letter during the school year will be honored. In addition, senior athletes who achieved a 3.2 or higher grade point average during their career will receive a Scholar-Athlete plaque.

The school will induct three members into its Athletic Hall of Fame, which began in 1998. Football and basketball all-conference standout, James Lofton (Class of 1987), three-sport captain and all-conference basketball star Carrie Pfister (2002) and football and baseball all-conference and All-New York Daily News selection, Reggie Willis (1978) will each be honored, bringing the number of athletes and coaches in the SHS Hall of Fame to 80.

Stratford’s long-time Assistant Principal Joseph Crapanzano will receive the “Distinguished Service Award” and Andrea Fedak, volunteer member of the Red Devils Booster Club, will be presented the “Community Spirit and Service Award.”

Tickets for the event are $30 and may be purchased by contacting SHS Athletic Director Tony De Angelo at (203) 385-4240 or via e-mail at deangeloa@stratk12.org. The deadline for reservations is May 10. Checks should be made out to Stratford High School Athletics.
