Seymour senior Katie Petroski recently committed to play softball at the University of Pennsylvania, a Division I school that competes in the Ivy League.
Last season, Petroski batted .417 with 45 RBIs, 12 doubles and three home runs while earning Register All-Area and second-team All-State honors. In addition, Petroski is a three-time coaches all-state and all-NVL selection. During the summer, Petroski plays travel ball for the Connecticut Charmers.
As a sophomore, Petroski was a Register All-State selection after batting .505 with 55 RBIs, 45 runs and 11 home runs.
Seymour, which went 21-4 and advanced to the NVL championship game and Class M quarterfinals last season, opens the 2014 campaign at Wilby on Apr. 9 at 3:30 p.m.
