Derby and Ansonia will join to host their 4th Breast Cancer Awareness Benefit when the teams play on Saturday at Ryan Field in Derby. Festivities will begin at 10:30. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.
The teams will honor three breast cancer survivors by having them throw out the ceremonial first pitches: Lori DiMartino, wife of Derby Coach Joe DiMartino, Lori McCarthy, friend of Derby assistant coach Jenn Moffat and Jodi Chevarella, wife of Derby girls basketball coach Dave Chevarella.
- There will be hot dogs, pizza, drinks and snacks.
- There is over 50 raffle prizes, most are $1 per ticket. There will also be a a $10 per ticket raffle for a Taylor Made Golf Club bundle valued at $1500.
- Pony rides are available from 11 a.n. until noon.
- A DJ will entertain the crowd.
