GAMES OF THE WEEK
Guilford at North boys Monday, 6:30 p.m.: For seeding in the SCC tournament for these two wildcard candidates. North Haven will likely need a win to have a chance to qualify for the eight-team field.
Amity at Branford girls, Monday, 3:45 p.m.: Both teams are in the SCC tournament. Branford, which won the last matchup 1-0, is currently the No. 2 seed in the field.
Xavier at Hand boys (Surf Club), Wednesday, 7 p.m.: Can Xavier finish off an unbeaten regular season? Hand would love to make sure that is not the case in a matchup of SCC division winners.
SCC boys and girls tournament quarterfinals, Saturday, at the site of the higher seed, times TBA: Barring any freak snowstorms or hurricanes, which impacted the last two tournaments, the two eight-team tournaments will begin in earnest. Xavier is the top seed in the boys field while Guilford will be the top seed with a win over East Haven today.
NOTABLE
If Cromwell beats or ties Old Lyme next Saturday, the Panthers will be the top seed in the Shoreline Conference boys tournament. If the Panthers lose, Old Saybrook will be the top seed.
