Soccer beat: NH County top performances, upcoming games to watch

FINE PERFORMANCES

Liam Daley, Branford:
Senior scored twice in a 3-0 win over North Haven.

Julian Yuliawan, Foran: Senior scored twice to help Foran upset Amity 3-2.

Shea Connors, Wilbur Cross: Senior scored five goals in a game for the second time this season, this time against North Haven in a 5-4 win and had two goals and an assist in a 3-2 win over East Haven.

Alexandra Pelletier, Cheshire: Junior had three goals in a 4-1 win over Sheehan.

Kara Nardella, Branford:
Junior had two goals in a 5-2 win over East Haven.

Allison Stephens, Guilford: Junior had four goals in a 4-0 win over Foran and scored once in a 3-2 win over Shelton.

Emma McCarthy, Lauralton Hall:
Senior goalkeeper posted three shutouts and totaled 18 saves in what ended up as scoreless ties against Barlow, Newtown and Bunnell.

GAMES OF THE WEEK

Shelton at Hand boys (Surf Club), Tuesday, 7 p.m.:
Shelton won this SCC interdivision matchup 2-1 last time around on Sept. 27.

Sacred Heart Academy at Mercy girls, Friday, 3:15 p.m.: The winner takes the SCC Quinnipiac Division title.

Fairfield Prep at Xavier boys (Oakwood Club), Friday, 7:30 p.m.: Can Xavier finish off an unbeaten division record and take the SCC Quinnipiac crown away from Prep?

Hand at Guilford boys, Saturday, 7 p.m.:
The SCC Hammonasset Division title will be decided here. Hand won 3-0 in the first matchup between the rival schools on Oct. 1.

NOTABLE

Lauralton Hall has played in five scoreless ties this season, including three last week.
