As much as there are a ton of huge games this week, Hand at Shelton, New Canaan at Staples, Valley Regional/Old Lyme at Morgan, etc., it’s getting tougher and tougher to do every game in the state as the best teams separate themselves from the middle of the pack and the middle of the pack distinguishes itself from the bottom of the standings.
Yet, we soldier on as only soldiers can with the statewide guide to the Week 7 games.
Side note: We’ll let you in on the Rocky Hill joke in advance. According to the Hartford Courant, cach Chris Coyne missed the team’s win over Weaver last week because he broke two ribs during practice when two of his players collided with him. Sounds like Coyne could miss this week’s game vs. Plainville, too. Anyway, the previous week Rocky Hill lost convincingly to Platt, hence the joke.
Eh, guess you had to be there.
Also: The Shelton-Hand blurb comes from Hand coach Steve Filippone’s address to his team filmed by WFSB’s Friday Night crew.
We just thought Shelton should be aware.
[continues to stirs pot gleefully].
OK. Carry on…
