Undefeated Class LL champion Greenwich (13-0) was voted the unanimous No. 1 team in the state in The Day of New London’s high school football coaches poll. Hand, the 13-0 Class L champions, took No. 2. Class M champion St. Joseph was No. 3. Class S champion Bloomfield came in at No. 9.
Each year, the Greenwich football team showed significant improvement under coach John Marinelli.
