South West Conference
The South West Conference currently consists of 14 member schools located in the north and eastern edge of Fairfield County, hugging the Housatonic River on the western side of Connecticut. It was formed by the merger of the Western Connecticut Conference and a portion of the Costal Connecticut Conference in 1995. It originally stretched from New Milford to Milford, but Law and Foran left for the SCC in 2004. Lauralton Hall followed 10 years later. Oxford was also a member for a few years of its existence. The remaining core schools have excelled in most CIAC sanctioned sports, but is particularly good in soccer, football, volleyball, baseball, softball, lacrosse, basketball and wrestling. Its hockey programs, which mainly play in CIAC's Division II and III, form a co-operative league with the SCC.
