Southern Connecticut Conference
The Greater New Haven-based Southern Connecticut Conference ranks as the second largest in Connecticut in terms of membership with 23 schools arranged mostly on south-central part of the state, extending from Fairfield to Madison along the coastline, and as far north as Middletown. Conceived in 1994 by the merger of the Housatonic League, District League, parts of the All-Connecticut Conference and Shoreline castaways Hand and Guilford, the league has consistently expanded and has developed unique, co-operative scheduling partnerships with other nearby schools and leagues. SCC schools have won nearly 500 state championships and have collectively excelled in nearly every CIAC sanctioned sport.
