Connecticut's premier high school sports website
The Naugatuck Valley League is the oldest continuous league in Connecticut. It was founded in 1930 and went through several configurations before settling on its current geography in the 1970s, centered around Greater Waterbury (where six schools reside). Over the last 25 years it has expanded into the lower Naugatuck Valley with Seymour (added in 1994), Woodland (2003), Derby (2009) and Oxford (2014). St. Paul (2009) and Waterbury Career Academy (2015) also joined. The league has excelled in traditional sports: baseball, soccer, softball, football, basketball and track and field. Sports like wrestling, hockey and lacrosse are only sponsored by a handful of schools.
