Central Connecticut Conference

The Central Connecticut Conference is a megaconference centered around the Greater Hartford metropolitan region. It is a collection of 32 schools of all types and sizes, making it one of the state's most diverse and successful Connecticut high school leagues. Formed in 1984, the league has expanded aggressively over the last two decades by gobbling up smaller leagues, particularly the Northwest and Charter Oak Conferences, and plucking other growing schools away from the NCCC and Berkshire Leagues. Its eight divisions (scheduled to begin in 2019) are organized by school enrollment, affording its members competition against similar-sized schools. The league regularly competes against the SCC and FCIAC for state supremacy. In 2019, the league will add Lewis Mills, a replacement for founding member Rockville, which left for the NCCC. Hartford's Weaver High, another CCC founding member, was jettisoned after the 2016 season due to declining enrollment.
