Saturday's New Haven County Girls' Basketball Roundup: H-K coach Jim Bombaci wins career game No. 500

Kiley Anderson had 21 points, eight rebounds and five blocked shots to lead the Haddam-Killingworth girls basketball team to a 66-44 Shoreline Conference win over Hyde on Saturday for coach Jim Bombaci’s 500th career win. Bombaci is 500-299 in 36 seasons.
Lauren McCann added 15 points, six rebounds and two blocks and Halie Serbent had 10 points for the Cougars (4-2).
Trayneice Mims led the Howling Wolves (3-4) with 17 points and four steals.

Derby 72, Wilby 46 >> Rebecca Adanti had a career-high 30 points to lead the Red Raiders to their NVL win in Derby. Shelby Mendillo added 11 points for the Red Raiders (2-4). Keri Ervin led Wilby (1-5) with 29 points.

Law 51, Foran 47 >> Jessica Centore scored a team-high 14 points, Laura Dulin had 12 points and the Eagles picked up a SCC Hammonasset win over the rival Lions.
Teneya McLaughlin had 18 points for Foran (3-5, 0-2) in the loss to Law (4-4, 1-0).

Lyman Hall 51, Cheshire 42 >> Nicole Mierzejwwski had 14 points and 12 rebounds and Krista Peterson scored 12 points in an SCC Housatonic Division victory.
Missy Bailey nailed five 3-pointers en route to scoring 17 points in Cheshire’s (6-1, 1-1) loss to Lyman Hall (6-1, 1-0).

Valley Regional 54, Portland 41 >> Kiernan Decker had 14 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Warriors to their Shoreline Conference win in Deep River. Mary Gardner added 11 points for the Warriors (1-3).
