Saturday's Litchfield County roundup: Thomaston girls basketball defeats Wamogo

Thomaston girls basketball scored early and often and went on to defeat Wamogo 53-33. The Golden Bears outscored the Warriors 32-10 in the first half. Wamogo went on a 17-5 run in the fourth quarter but it was not enough. Thomaston’s Morgan Sanson led all scorers with 14 points. Abby Hurlbert hit three shots from behind the arch and finished with 13 points. Wamogo’s Kristen Kandefer led the Warriors with 11 points. Brooke Neller added six points.

Northwestern 101, Gilbert 85 >> Northwestern defeated Gilbert in a close meet. The Highlanders’ Barrett Langendoerfer won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:09.10 and was part of the top placing 200 medley relay team which finished with a time of 2:04.65. Peter Kamianowski placed first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:05.99. Gilbert’s Luke Snyder placed first in diving, finishing with a score of 165.80.
