The Sacred Heart Greenwich tennis team topped Taft School, 7-2, in a match held in Greenwich on Saturday.
Claire Pittaro won her pro-set match at second singles for the Tigers, defeating Regan Brewer, 10-3. At the No. 3 singles spot, Stephanie Beshoory was a 14-1 winner for Sacred Heart.
Isabella Gunningham won her match at No. 4 for the Tigers against Maddie Meister, 10-4. Molly Cadman notched a 10-5 decision at the fifth spot.
In doubles competition, Coale and Pittaro teamed up for an 8-5 win, while Beshoory/Gunningham were 8-2 winners. Megan Farrell and Nia Foster gave Sacred Heart an 8-3 win.
BRUNSWICK SCHOOL LACROSSE
After suffering its first loss of the season against the Hill Academy on Wednesday, Brunswick School got right back on the winning track Friday, upending Everest Academy, 13-2, at Union College in Schenectady N.Y.
Ranked fourth in the latest Under Armour/Inside Lacrosse national poll, Brunswick (10-1) entered the second quarter with a 7-0 lead.
Senior Christian Ronda registered one goal and two assists, while Whit Knight tallied twice to lead the Bruins. Whit Stahl, Liam Fairback and Michael Mauricio added one goal and one assist apiece for the Bruins, who held a 9-0 halftime lead.
Fairback started the scoring, tallying off a pass from Ronda at the 9:30 mark of the first quarter. Less than a minute later, Ronda scored, this time off a Fairback feed, making it 2-0.
Mauricio, Michael Gottlieb, Logan Darrin (first career goal) and Lucas Delgado each registered first-quarter goals for the victors.
Coulter Mackesy assisted on two tallies, while Lucas Delgado, Darrin, Gottlieb, Brody Firestein, Cooper Moore, Bernard Zoungrana and Keenan Gilsenan each had one goal in the win.
Christian Barnard, Will Prout and Luke Schlank each played in goal for the Bruins. Brunswick visits Choate Rosemary Hall on Wednesday.
GREENWICH HIGH SCHOOL BOYS LACROSSE
The Cardinals were edged by visiting Bronxville (N.Y.) High School on Saturday, 11-9.
Senior Jack Feda led the Cardinals, scoring six goals. Lance Large, Charlie Graves and Nate Allen added one goal apiece for Greenwich.
Owen Gwozdz assisted on three goals, while Bryce Metalios and Tyler Dietrich each had one assist for the Cardinals. Bronxville was 14 for 20 on faceoffs.
For Greenwich, Padraig Colligan made five saves.
