Sacred Heart Greenwich kept its perfect record intact, holding off host Hotchkiss School, 15-12, on Saturday in what was its most competitive lacrosse game so far this season.
“There is always a lot of energy and excitement around the Hotchkiss game,” Tigers coach Tara Clough said. “It was close and competitive today. We made adjustments early in the first half, gained momentum, worked our offense and took the lead.”
Junior Katie Keller powered the Tigers’ offensively, tallying a team-high six goals. Senior Ryan Smith added four goals and two assists, while Fiona Lewis tallied twice for Sacred Heart.
Amelia Sheehan, Morgan Smith and Caroline Paul each had one goal and one assist, while Lily Deconcini, Hannah Dempsey and Athena Corroon each assisted on a goal for the victors.
Rachel Keefe made seven saves in goal for the Tigers.
“We maintained our composure throughout the game,” Clough said. “Our communication and leadership on the field helped us close it out with a win.”
