Sacred Heart Greenwich was defeated by King, 3-0, in an FAA volleyball match held on Tuesday in Greenwich.
King (4-0) won the match, 25-16, 25-21, 25-14. Morgan Wilkens posted 19 assists, three aces and three digs, while Fran Iraola had five kills and three digs for Sacred Heart.
Lucy Catalano registered eight kills and one block and Olivia Lockwood totaled five kills and seven digs.
King was powered by Nicole Salantay, who had seven kills, 10 digs and nine service points. Ruby Bienen had nine kills, eight digs and two aces and Norah Shattan added five kills, six blocks and 13 assists for the victors. The Tigers host Greens Farms Academy on Thursday.
GREENWICH ACADEMY FIELD HOCKEY
Greenwich Academy rolled past visiting St. Luke’s School, 6-0, in an FCIAC matchup held on Monday.
Grace Schulze got the scoring started, tallying with 13:57 remaining in the first half. Cameron Brower scored at the 12-minute mark of the opening half off an assist from Schulze, making it 2-0.
Lila Murray’s goal off a pass from Antonia Packard gave GA a 3-0 second-half lead and Julia Freedman scored of a setup by Katharine Glassmeyer, putting St. Luke’s behind, 4-0.
Schulze added another goal and Ada Shaffer tallied to seal the Gators’ scoring.
Greenwich Academy hosts Hopkins School Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
