The June 30th registration deadline for the 29th Annual ShopRite Nutmeg State Games, Hosted by the City of New Britain, is quickly approaching. Space is limited for many events, so register online today to secure your spot.
Over 7,000 athletes, 600+ coaches, 1,500 volunteers and 20,000 spectators will converge on New Britain for the eighth consecutive year. Connecticut’s premier Olympic style multi-sport competition will be held July 15th – August 6th. The Games consist of 20 different sporting offerings, which include team and individual competitions.
The 2017 ShopRite Nutmeg State Games has team sports offered that include Baseball, Basketball, Fast-Pitch Softball, Field Hockey 7 vs. 7, Boys and Girls Ice Hockey, Boy’s Lacrosse, Girl’s Lacrosse 7 vs. 7, Roller Hockey, and Boys and Girls Soccer. All team sport tournaments will be round robin/pool play format with a minimum guarantee of three or four games. The 2017 individual sport offerings include Archery, Cycling, Fencing, Figure Skating, Golf, Gymnastics, Judo, Shooting, Swimming (Masters and Youth), Track & Field, and Wrestling.
The Nutmeg State Games is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization, governed by the National Congress of State Games and recognized by the U.S. Olympic Committee as the official state games of Connecticut. The Nutmeg State Games, through the venue of competitive sports, seeks to contribute positively to the physical, mental and emotional growth of our athletes. We believe that participation in athletics provides opportunities to develop the qualities of leadership, hard work, self confidence and mental and physical toughness.
