Sam Katz stopped Notre Dame-West Haven’s attempt at a winning, 2-point conversion to seal Hand’s 21-20 victory Friday night at the Surf Club.
Cameran Tucker had scored on a 1-yard run to pull the Green Knights (4-6) within a point. Nick van Dell threw a pair of touchdown passes and ran for another for the Hand (7-3), which remained alive in the Class L playoff hunt.

Rick Bartone rushed 15 times for 101 yards and a touchdown . Michael Kreiger was 15 for 21 for 296 yards three touchdowns for the Red Raiders (5-5). He also ran for 100 yards and two touchdowns for the Red Raiders. Sal Frosceno caught a 48-yard touchdown pass.
Oxford 36, Bunnell 20 >> Steve Persson rushed for a single-game school record 339 yards on 30 carries, including four touchdown runs of 67, 12, 6 and 3 yards, to lead the Oxford football team to its 36-20 South-West Conference interdivision win over Bunnell Friday night in Stratford.
Gunnar Fay added a 39-yard touchdown run for Oxford (5-5). Quarterback Nolan Aurelia rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown and threw for 257 yards and two touchdowns for the Bulldogs (3-7). Zhyaire Fernandes had 10 receptions for 210 yards for the Bulldogs.
