New Haven County Girls Basketball Roundup: Amity tops Oxford

Amity 45, Oxford 35 >> Molly Ronan scored a game-high 16 points for Amity in the opening round of the Candy Cane Classic at Ansonia.
Elise Graham added 13 points for the Spartans (4-1), who will face Woodland in the tournament final tonight. Bobbie Stilson had seven points for Oxford (2-2).

Woodland 41, Ansonia 34 >> Grace Keener scored eight points and hauled in seven rebounds, but the chargers failed to pick up their first victory in a home loss in the Candy Cane Classic.
Ansonia (0-6) will play Oxford in the third-place game Friday at 5 p.m., Woodland (1-4) will play Amity in the final.

Stamford 47, Foran 42 >> Tiana England scored 15 points to lead Stamford to its non-league win at the Westhill Holiday Tournament in Stamford.
Teneya McLaughlin led the Lions with 19 points and Kyra Blacketter added 14 rebounds and six points.
