MIDDLETOWN—New Canaan divers swept the top three positions at the Class L girls diving championship Thursday night at the Middletown High School pool.
Charlotte Frank amassed 425.05 points on 11 dives to be crowned Class L champion in the 29-diver field.
Olivia Quinn was runner-up with 401.30 points followed by New Canaan teammate Natalie Penman (374.50). Frank is a junior, Quinn is a sophomore and Penman is a freshman.
Adriana Mieses-Sanchez of Windsor (370.70) was fourth just ahead of Wilton sophomore Marra Woodring (370.15). Conard senior Nicholle Denault (356.55) took sixth place.
Completing the top 11 divers were New Canaan sophomore Ella Olafsson (354.20), Darien senior Lana Schmidt (347.75), New Milford sophomore Sarah Beck (345.40), Darien freshman Lilly Wurm (344.05) and Darien senior Emma Hunter (342.0).
WESTON’S KATZ TAKES CLASS S DIVING
HARTFORD—Weston senior Elizabeth Katz collected 434.45 points on 11 dives to win the Class S girls diving championship Thursday night at the Bulkeley High School pool.
East Catholic junior Mallory Moriarty (349.30) was a distant runnerup in the field of 19 divers. Jonathan Law sophomore MaKenna Sharpe (343.90) took third place. East Catholic senior Madison McHenry (339.10) was fourth.
Torrington senior Riley Silva (330.95), Waterford freshman Camille Caldrello (326.25), Weston frosh Cali Mandell (317.70), Lauralton Hall senior Cassandra Burton (312.10), Woodland freshman Ella Bernegger (305.85), Woodland sophomore Kayleigh Theroux (300.20) along with Weston juniors Hayley Palsho (293.90) and Isabella Shafer (293.0) completed the Top 12
