BRISTOL >> Richie Kerstetter had three hits and five RBIs and was also the winning pitcher as Fairfield American crushed Wellesley, Mass. 11-0 Friday afternoon to advance to the New England Regional Little League championship game.
Fairfield American, which has now won three consecutive games after losing its opener to New Hampshire, will face unbeaten Warwick, R.I. (2-0) in the championship Saturday at 1 p.m. at Breen Field.
The winner advances to Williamsport for the Little League World Series.
Kersetter hit a three-run home run in the first inning to get Fairfield American going. On the mound, he threw a no-hitter with nine strikeouts through four innings before ceding to reliever Matt Sawyer, who pitched the final inning.
Kersetter also had a two-run single and a double.
Teammate Michael Iannazo had three hits. Michael Innaimo had a pair of RBIs. Fairfield had 12 hits overall.
