WINSTED >> Wamogo’s Garrett Sattazahn dropped 29 points on Northwestern to lead the Warriors to a 72-60 win in a battle of undefeated Berkshire League boys basketball teams at Northwestern High School Friday evening.
The Warriors (6-0) won every quarter after roaring out to a 22-15 first-quarter start against the defending league co-champions, now 4-1.
Max Loomis added 17 points for Wamogo. Ethan Collins had 11.
Jason Reola (16 points) and Sheldon Green stood out for the Highlanders.
Shepaug 90, Gilbert 51 >> The Spartans stormed to a big win at home behind Kyle Lamay’s 28 points, including six three-pointers.
Alan Stinson (16 points), Eamon Crossley (14), Joe Bunnell (13) and Ethan Hibbard rounded out a torrid shooting night for the Spartans.
Juan Sarmiento was Gilbert’s high-scorer with 16.
Shepaug is 2-4; Gilbert, 0-5.
Lewis Mills 61, Terryville 31 >> The Spartans’ size pushed past a first quarter deficit at Lewis Mills. Center Josh Schibi had 19 points. Kyle Alvarez added 11.
Shawn Iwanow scored 15 points and Evan Dorso 13 for the Kangaroos.
Mills is 5-1; Terryville is 1-5.
Thomaston 50, Litchfield 41 >> Noah Daigle and Jared Kahn supplied the firepower with 16 points apiece while the Golden Bear defense held Litchfield to six points in the second and fourth quarters at Thomaston High School.
Glenn Doyle had 14 points for the Cowboys. Jared Guilmart had 11.
Thomaston is 4-2; Litchfield is 2-4.
Northwestern 45, Wamogo 37 >> Emma Propfe (14 points), Gina Weingart (13) and Addie Hester (10) led the way for the Highlanders (4-3) at Wamogo High School.
Rose Kelly and Christina Roy had 9 points apiece for the Warriors (1-6).
Gilbert 54, Shepaug 22 >> Liz Wexler’s 15 points led a balanced Yellowjacket attack at home.
Olivia Moore had 11 points for the Spartans.
Gilbert is 5-3; Shepaug is 0-8.
Lewis Mills 56, Terryville 17 >> Samantha Chadwick led a Spartan stampede at Terryville High School with 18 points. Gabriele Bagdonas had 10.
Mills is 6-2; Terryville is 1-6.
Swimming and Diving
Torrington 95, Kennedy 81 >> Kennedy won the opening 200-yard relay. Then the undefeated Red Raiders (3-0) swept every event until they stopped scoring three events from the end of a meet at Kennedy High School.
Jackson Keller, JT Barth (2), Viktor Nemesvari, Elizabeth Kot, Michael Galan, Gavin Smart won individual events, including diving.
Barth, Keller, Curtis Ledda and Nemesvari won the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Graham Michael, David Savedra, Cameron Taylor and Rodrigo Santana took the opening relay for the Eagles.
