Molly Porch (5 kills); Tori Grantmeyer (2 kills, 1 block); and Molly Clarke (5 kills, 13 aces, 1 assist) led the Highlanders.
Marge Riccardelli (3 kills, 1 ace, 2 digs) and Autumn Freudenberg (4 kills, 2 blocks) stood out for the Mountaineers (4-3).
Nonnewaug 3, Gilbert 0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-16) >> Nonnewaug’s Kelli Haigh had 8 digs, 6 kills and an ace; Madison Conroy, 5 digs, 6 kills; and Hannah Maclean 17 assists, 3 aces, 5 kills, 6 digs in the Chiefs’ win at Gilbert.
Ali Brochu had 11 kills, 1 ace; Deanna Delacruz, 3 kills, 1 assist, 2 aces; and Elizabeth Wexler 15 assists for the Yellowjackets.

Torrington 3, Watertown 0 (25-10, 25-12, 25-7) >> The Red Raiders (7-1) had no trouble at Watertown behind Jayleen Colon (15 assists), Carissa Carbone (9 kills, 8 digs, 3 aces) and Ali Dubois (4 digs, 7 aces).
Brianna Chardowsky (6 digs, 1 kill); Mary Zaborowski (5 digs, 2 kills); and Jenna Bourassa (5 digs, 7 assists) led the Indians (2-5).
Nonnewaug 5, Wamogo 0 >> The Chiefs (6-0) put the game away in the first half at Wamogo High School (3-3) with three goals by Leland Malloy, two of them in the first five minutes, and a fourth by Jack Willis. Connor Coleman scored the game’s final goal in the second half.
Will Coleman, Jacob Matta, Jacob Firlings and Nate Firlings had assists.
Terryville 6, Gilbert 0 >> The Kangaroos smoked Gilbert at Terryville High School with goals by Adem Kepi, Kyle Hotchkiss and Ardonis Shahini in the first half, then Adam Pelz, Shahini again and Mike West in the second.
Doug Welton, Ryan Mensel (2) and Mike Hills had assists.
Terryville is 2-3-1; Gilbert is 0-6.
Lewis Mills 3, Shepaug 0 >> Nick Lutrzykowski had two goals and Joe Fortuna had one at Nassahegan Field. Lorenz Gunzl, Fortuna and Brady Fox had the assists.

Northwestern 3, Thomaston 1 >> Highlander Tom Mierzwa scored the game’s only first-half goal at Northwestern High School. Jackson Dropick and Tim Strzepa put it away in the second, with Northwestern assists by Dante Turiano, Jameson Weber and Brian Keegan.
Devin Acker had Thomaston’s goal with an assist by Mergin Kulovic.
The Highlanders are 4-2; Thomaston is 3-3.
Wolcott Tech 2, Bassick 0 >> Sierra McIlwain scored both Wildcat goals at Wolcott Tech, assisted by Nicole Cordano and Cameron Dziedzic.
Northwestern 3, Thomaston 0 >> Emma Propfe had all three goals in the Highlanders’ shutout at Thomaston. Camryn Capaldo had 11 saves for the Golden Bears.

Lewis Mills 8, Shepaug 1 >> Chloe Waldron led the Spartans at Shepaug with two goals and two assists. Alyssa Wrabel and freshman Morgan Sokol added two more apiece. Elian D’Oca and Jazzy Sztyler-Magee each had one goal.
Rache Hedden, Cally Roy, Hannah Anderson and Grace Krysanski had the Spartan assists.
Gwen Noto scored for Shepaug while keeper Skylar Soletzky made 10 saves.

Thomaston’s Steve Scouigall and Eric Desmarais were second and tenth.
Litchfield’s Jonathan Dieck and Jon Stephens were fifth and eighth.

Alexa Sanson and Sam Laone had the Golden Bears’ goals.

Nonnewaug 5, Northwestern 1 >> Maiya Wendel, Alex Eanniello (2), Maddie Cleary and Lindsey Ross scored for the Chiefs at home. Ross (2) and Cleary had assists.

Boys Cross Country
Wolcott Tech’s Ben Koonz (20:05); Zach Koonz; Jake Knight; and Garrett Barker took four of the five top finishes at Minetto State Park Monday. Eli Whitney’s Daris Gaither was second.
It was the first win of the season for the Wildcats, 1-4.
Girls Cross Country
Alicia Winn (23:12); Richelle Prince, Leah Frazier and Sarah Klotzman swept the top five places for Wolcott Tech (4-1) at Minetto State Park against Eli Whitney Monday.
