Lewis Mills 9, Gilbert 8 >> The Spartans started with a 6-1 lead after two innings at Lewis Mills behind Ethan Surveski (3-for-3, 3 RBI, 4 runs); Grant Harris (3-for-4, RBI); Jared Czarnecki (2-for-4, double, 2 RBI) and Lucas Lanning (2-for-3, double, RBI, 2 runs).
Surveski was perfect after replacing catcher Mike Ciccarelli, who broke his nose in the top of the first inning.
The Yellowjackets, behind Tim Smith (2-for-3, double, RBI, run); Cam Goulet (3 RBI); and Ivan Moreira (2-for-4, run), pulled to an 8-7 lead in the top of the sixth.
Mills scored two more runs in the bottom of the inning, then held on in the seventh.
