HARTFORD — East Catholic will play for a fourth-consecutive Central Connecticut Conference championship after a 64-58 victory over Farmington in Monday’s semifinals at Bulkeley’s Babe Allen Field House.
Standing in the Eagles’ way in Thursday’s final, once again, is rival and No. 2-seeded Windsor, which held off Glastonbury, 73-68, behind a 30-point night from Amir Spears.
Joe Reilly and Matt Knowling had 21 points apiece for East (22-0), the No. 2-ranked team in the GameTimeCT Top 10 Poll. Jaylin Hunter added 19 points, including three 3-pointers. Farmington was led by 22 points from Bube Momah and 11 from Jake Dunst.
Spears made five 3-pointers to lead the Warriors back to the CCC championship game while Corey McKeithan added 20 points. The game is a rematch of last year’s final, won by East Catholic 95-81. (Windsor did repay the favor by knocking East out of last year’s Division I tournament).
East Catholic defeated Windsor in the regular season matchup on Feb. 15, 74-52.
Glastonbury was led by 19 points from Thomas Shea and 18 from Aaron Latham. Jack Shea added 15.
