Welcome back to the No. 1 high school baseball podcast, High and Tight.
The season is over — boo — but what a season it was.
Coventry won its first title since 1984, St. Joseph reached the Class M mountain top for the first time since 2013 and both Waterford and Staples won their second title in three years.
It was a great championship weekend. All four games were close and each of the eight teams had a shot to take home a title.
This is the final episode of the high school season and we have a PACKED episode to end the year.
All four championship coaches, Coventry’s Ryan Giberson, St. Joseph’s Jim Chaves, Waterford’s Art Peluso and Staples’ Jack McFarland all came on the show to talk about their team’s seasons. How they got there, what players made the biggest impact and now that it has been a couple of days the coaches reflect on the season that was.
We will be BACK this summer as Pete and Scott will be looking to interview former high school baseball players who are playing or have played at the next level — college, pro ball and hopefully even the MLB. If there is a player that you would like us to try and interview, drop a comment and we will try to get them on the show.
If you missed anything during the tournament we have everything right here: CIAC BASEBALL TOURNAMENT SCOREBOARD / SCHEDULE
