Greenwich dominates Class LL diving; Brookfield impressive in Class M

MIDDLETOWN — FCIAC seniors swept the top five spots at the Class LL girls diving championship Wednesday night at the Middletown High School pool.

Greenwich seniors Saylor Kirsch (443.75 points) and Reggie Frias (436.15) captured the top two positions in the 11-dive competition with a 43-diver field. Frias recently won the 2019 FCIAC Diving Championship.

Westhill-Stamford Co-op senior Abigail Desyr finished in third place with 404.30 points. Greenwich senior Casey Kirsch (382.55) was fourth with Trumbull’s Katelyn Cerulli (380.0) in fifth.

Natalie DeMatteo of Cheshire (369.10), Staples’ Addie Costello (359.75), Norwalk-McMahon Co-op freshman Kaitlyn Maggio (359.45), Lucy Aarow of Staples (359.15) and Hall’s Zoe Baker (355.80) completed the top 10 finishers.

EMMA GRAVGAARD WINS CLASS M DIVING

HARTFORD—Brookfield senior Emma Gravgaard amassed 448.25 points to be the runaway winner at the Class M girls diving championship at the Bulkeley High School pool Wednesday night.

North Haven senior Ava Santacroce (402.55) was runnerup in the field of 12 divers. Brookfield sophomore Mykayla Lavery (359.40) took third place.

Bristol Eastern senior Emily Mulcunry (347.45), E.O. Smith-Tolland co-op senior Lucia Magnuson (345.15) and Brookfield sophomore Nora Gravgaard (293.15) completed the top six divers.
