Greenwich began its boys tennis season by recording a 7-0 win over Brien McMahon on Monday in Norwalk.
Caleb Fockens of Greenwich was victorious at first singles against Charles Emerson, 6-1, 6-1. At second singles, Matthew Tamis defeated McMahon’s John Kirst, 6-0, 6-2. Alican Beba (No. 3) of the Cardinals beat Emmett McGurren, 6-2, 6-1. Fourth singles saw James Cosby sweep to a 6-0, 6-0 victory for the Cardinals.
In doubles action, Boris Ardemasov/Derek Wang took a 6-0, 6-0 decision from McMahon, at the top spot, while Josh Fruman/Jimmy Papas teamed up for a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
At the third doubles spot, Luke Muse/Pietro DiFerrari also won their match, 6-0, 6-0, for the Cards (1-0), who visit New Canaan on Tuesday.
