GA scored another power play goal in the first period. This time senior co-captain Bobbi Roca converted a shot, making it 2-0. Freshman Ava Butz and sophomore Kayla Ketchabaw each assisted on the tally.
“We came out flying and scored two great power play goals in the first period,” said GA first-year coach Erin Brawley, who picked up her first career victory. “The second period, we continued to execute our game plan of having three players back perfectly.”
Freshman Hamilton Doster and Curran each tallied in the second period, making it 4-0. Butz set up Doster’s goal, which came with 9:00 left in the period.
Curran capped the scoring with 7:00 left in the final period. Roco and Doster had the assists on the last goal. Eighth-grader Lianna Seeley made 17 saves in goal for Greenwich Academy. Jessica Ware made 25 saves for Canterbury.
“The third period, we kept our foot on the gas,” Brawley said. “It was a great game by our team, we got all 22 players on the ice.”
