Chris Fosdick from Middlefield and Xavier High School shot a 5-under-par 65 in Tuesday’s final round to win the 43rd Junior Connecticut Junior PGA Championship at the Course at Yale.
Fosdick, a rising senior at Xavier, finished at 4-under-par 136 in the 36-hole tournament, winning by three strokes over Tyler Woodward from Durham, a rising senior at Coginchaug. Both Fosdick and Woodward qualified for the JUNIOR PGA national championship July 31-Aug. 3 at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky.
Matt Doyle of Madison tied for fifth (141) while Ben James of Milford placed 10th (144).
Sarah Houle from Newtown won the girls competition, shooting 67-71-138. Houle won by seven shots over Annie Sun.
