Emma Babashak, Wilton: Babashak, a senior, was the 100-yard butterfly winner for Wilton in its meet against FCIAC foe Greenwich, touching the wall in 58.96 seconds. She also placed second in the 500 freestyle in 5:17.65.
Anne Bowens, Staples: Bowens won the 50-meter freestyle event for Staples, which defeated Norwalk/McMahon, 98-82. Bowens also finished first in the 100 breaststroke in 1:18.48.
Ashley Calderon, Norwalk/McMahon: Against Staples, Calderon, a senior, won the 100-meter butterfly in 1:07.25 and finished second in the 50-meter freestyle (28.64)
Adriana DelVecchio, Hamden: DelVecchio, a freshman, won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.84 seconds in the team’s win vs. Mercy.
Ava Fasano, Wilton: Fasano finished first in the 50 freestyle (25.29 seconds) in the Warriors’ meet against Greenwich.
Jacqui Fox, Hall: A freshman, Fox was the 100-yard freestyle winner in 58.36 seconds and was part of Hall’s first-place 200 medley relay team (2:00.22) for Hall in its 101-80 triumph against Newington.
Angela Gambardella, North Haven: Gambardella, a senior won the 100 butterfly (1:00.50) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.17) for the Rams against Cheshire.
Jenna Handali, Greenwich: Handali, a senior, won the 100 freestyle (55.55) and was second in the 50 freestyle (25.67) for the Cardinals in their meet against FCIAC foe vs. Wilton.
Esme Hunter, Staples: The senior posted a first-place finish in the 200-meter individual medley (2:34.21) for Staples in its victory against Norwalk/McMahon.
Saylor Kirsch, Greenwich: A senior, Kirsch continued her standout season on the 1-meter diving board, winning the event against Wilton (249.15 points).
Victoria Liu, Greenwich: Liu won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:16.36 and placed second in the 200 freestyle against Wilton.
Meghan Lynch, Greenwich: Lynch, a junior, won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:05.78 and was the 100 breaststroke winner (1:05.48) for the unbeaten Cardinals in their victory against Wilton. She also helped spark the 400 freestyle relay team to a first-place finish (3:39.85).
Anna Mrozik, Seymour: Mrozik touched the wall first in the 100-yard butterfly (1:12.29) and 200 individual medley (2:32.07) for unbeaten Seymour, which defeated Wilby-Kaynor, 83-70. The senior also competed on the team’s winning 200 freestyle relay squad (1:57.62).
Sophia Murphy, Cheshire: A junior, Murphy won the 50-yard freestyle (24.67 seconds) and 100 freestyle (53.29) in the Rams’ victory against North Haven. She also swam on Cheshire’s 200 medley relay squad, which finished first in 1:55.85.
Emma Nordquist, Hall: Nordquist, a junior, placed first in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:19.76 and was part of Hall’s winning 200 medley relay squad in 2:00.22 against Newington.
Emma Panaroni, Hamden: Panaroni registered winning efforts in the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.58) and 100 backstroke (1:01.78) for Hamden, which beat Mercy, 99-85. She also swam on the Green Dragons’ first-place 200 medley relay squad (1:58.85).
Katharine Pillion, Mercy: Mercy defeated East Haven/Wilbur Cross, 101-80, with Pillion, a junior, placing first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:15.59) and competing on the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:54.09), which finished first.
Amber Rocheleau, Newington: Rocheleau gave Newington a first-place finish in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.83 seconds and was the 500 freestyle winner (5:26.64) for Newington in its meet vs. Hall.
Norah Rome, East Haven/Wilbur Cross: A sophomore, Rome finished first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:01.41 and won the 100 freestyle (55.71) in her team’s meet vs. Mercy. She also competed on the squad’s winning 200 medley relay (2:01.02) and 400 freestyle relay (4:03.72) teams.
Ava Santacroce, North Haven: Santacroce, a senior, took top honors on the 1-meter diving board for North Haven in its SCC meet vs. Cheshire. She totaled 243.60 points.
Julia Stevens, Cheshire: The senior producing winning performances in the 200-yard individual medley (2:12.73) and 500 freestyle (5:12.65) for Cheshire in its win vs. SCC foe North Haven.
Jessica Qi, Staples: Qi, a sophomore, topped the competition in the 100-meter freestyle (1:00.53) and was the 200 freestyle winner (2:11.27) winner for the Wreckers in their 98-82 victory over Norwalk/McMahon.
MEETS TO WATCH
Staples at Greenwich, Wednesday, 4:30 p.m.: The Cardinals put their undefeated record on the line against the Wreckers, who like GHS, has depth at each event.
Darien vs. Ridgefield, Thursday, 4 p.m., at Barlow Mountain School: Darien is undefeated heading into this FCIAC meet. The Blue Wave and Tigers always have close races against each other in most events.
Hand vs. Cheshire, Friday, at Cheshire Community Pool, 7 p.m.: This showdown between the SCC rivals features two squads in the midst of undefeated seasons. Cheshire won last season’s meeting, 94-84.
Cheshire vs. Lauralton Hall, Oct. 22, at Cheshire Community Pool, 7 p.m.: Should be a good test for the Rams, who beat Laurlton Hall, 98-83 last season.
Amity vs. Hand, Oct. 22, at High Plains Community Center, 6:45 p.m.: Hand began this week with a record of 8-0, while Amity was 7-1. Amity defeated Hand in 2018, 98-80.
