Class LL: St. Joseph 2, Suffield 1
MERIDEN >> Samantha Grasso and Jenna Bike scored within 2 minutes of each other in the first half, then the third-seeded St. Joseph girls soccer team hung on to beat top-seeded Suffield 2-1 Saturday in the Class LL championship game at Falcon Field.
Class L: Guilford 2, Branford 0
WEST HAVEN >> Julia McMahon’s header of a Julia Carr free kick in the second half was all the Guilford girls soccer team needed to defeat Branford 2-0 and win the Class L state championship at Ken Strong Stadium.
McMahon also scored the second goal for the Indians with 27 seconds left,
It is the first title for the Indians (21-2) since 2003. This was the first appearance for Branford (19-3-1).
This was a rematch of the Southern Connecticut Conference tournament final, won by Guilford 3-1 on Oct. 30.

CLASS M: Waterford 1, Haddam-Killingworth 0
MIDDLETOWN >> Claire Hurley scored with 2:23 left in the first half and the Waterford defense made it stand up as the third-ranked Lancers defeated No. 5 Haddam-Killingworth 1-0 to win the CIAC Class M girls soccer championship in front of 1,000 at Rosek-Skubel Stadium at Middletown High School Saturday morning.
Class S: Portland vs. Old Saybrook at Middletown, 3:30 p.m.
